Weekly Grocery Shopping - $36.30

I worked in the kitchen at church this week and was given all this yummy bread.  The taco shells were also given to us after our potluck at Bible study Friday night.

I had a quick pop into the store this week for shredded cheese for the potluck.  I spent $6.67 that trip.

Then, I shopped this weekend at QFC spending $7.82 and Fred Meyer spending $10.65 on food.  Here is a combined photo of those visits.

Frozen Pizza $2.49 on clearance ($1.00 store coupon) = $1.49
Eggs - $1.00 each dozen
Milk - $.99 per half gallon
Organic Yogurt - $.95 each on clearance
Cottage Cheese - $.75 each on clearance
Yogurt Cups - $.40 on sale (B1G1 MC) = $.20 each
Oranges - $.88/lb
Bananas - $.64/lb   ***I had a coupon for $1.00 off the purchase of $4.00 fruit.  The oranges and  bananas were $4.07 total so I got to use the coupon.
Cucumbers - $.69 each
Bananas with red Band - $.39/lb  I wish I'd seen these gorgeous green bananas at QFC before I picked and chose over an already ripe selection at Freddy's, but QFC was my last stop.
Cream of Mushroom Soup - $.49 on clearance.

The soup is not technically something I should buy during the Pantry Challenge 2013 but it will allow me to use several cans of green beans, water chestnuts, and french fried onions from the pantry.  I only considered it because it was in the clearance bin, and I am proud of myself for painfully passing by the $.49 per box linguini.  I also technically shouldn't have purchased the pizza.  I justified the purchase knowing I'll be out of town for two weeks in February and DH will need some easy, prepared food.

I have to confess that it would have been really easy for me to just leave those items out of the picture this week.  There have been many shopping trips in the past that aren't impressive so I don't bother taking a picture blogging.  But this year I want to keep an accurate record of food costs so there it all is.

I'm desperate for lettuce so that will be an early purchase in the coming week.

This week's grocery total including milk delivery: $36.30
This year's grocery total: $206.34
